This intermediate course is the second in a series of digital media courses. Students survey software and other tools used in the creation of still and time-based digital media. Emphasis is placed on building specialized design and software skills. Topics include product photography, photo editing and manipulation, compositing, motion graphics, and user interface animations. This course is intended for graphic design students, interaction design students, or anyone interested in digital media.
Alberto Lopez is an animator and motion designer with over 12 years of expertise. His unique perspective, molded by experiences on both sides of the U.S./Mexican border, enriches his work. A proud Navy veteran, Alberto served from 2003 to 2008, acquiring skills in diving and cold-weather training. After his service, he trained at the Media Arts Center San Diego and later earned a B.S. in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute. Currently at Viasat, he specializes in design, animation, and establishing a 3D pipeline for video production. Passionate about community service, he mentors youth in underserved communities through the AIGA LINK program. Outside of work, Alberto enjoys comics, true crime podcasts, and DIY projects.
