This is the first in a series of courses that help intermediate design students build portfolio projects through professional experiences. Emphasis is placed on a strategic analysis of a specific target audience. Students apply custom typography and packaging to design projects that follow real world constraints.
Bradford Prairie is an educator, designer, and brand strategist. For over ten years, he has applied his keen eye for detail and aesthetics to a wide variety of digital and print projects. A product of startup culture, his embedded curiosity and spirit of innovation has helped realize the vision of early-stage growth companies. Formerly the Creative Director at Ignyte, his concept-driven process has helped create authentic and emotionally-engaging brands. Open-minded and infinitely curious, thinking is at the heart of everything he does. Bradford is an alumni of San Diego City College and the University of California, Irvine.
Sean is a professor, passionate designer and obsessive typophile who teaches a wide range of classes at San Diego City College. He also helps direct and manage the graphic design program and its administrative responsibilities. His courses have included portfolio, advanced typography, portfolio building, and basic graphic design. He brings his wealth of experiences and insight to help produce many of the award winning portfolios from City. He has worked for The Daily Aztec, Jonathan Segal Architecture, Parallax Visual Communication and Silent Partner. He attended San Diego City College, San Diego State and completed his masters at Savannah College of Art and Design.
