This hands-on class will teach you the basics of creating unique books. Learn a variety of book structures, visual forms and the essential tools and techniques needed to construct books. Get inspired by discovering the creative potential of this medium through understanding both Western and Asian book traditions.

 

CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is an interdisciplinary course for art students and others who are interested in book arts. The course emphasizes visual form, physical structure, and expressive potential of the artist-made book, including essential elements, tools, and processes. Students construct books in Western and Asian traditions and use these concepts to create unique forms.
