Students in this course will learn about the professional aspects of being a successful designer. The focus will be on job hunting skills, keeping and growing at a design job, and how to plot a successful design career. Aspects of working as a freelance designer will also be covered including contracts, costs and billing.
Mike Green is a creative director, design thinker and brand strategist with over 20 years of creative industry experience. Mike has collaborated with talented teams at fortune 500’s and non-profits from all over the globe. From brand identity to broadcast, graphic design to campaign development, Mike has collected a wide range of valuable tools for an ever-evolving media landscape. One of Mike’s greatest passions is education and helping design students make the transition from the classroom to the professional world. He currently teaches ARTG-135 Professional Practices and helps coordinate the Graphic Design Internship Program. When Mike’s not lecturing on the value of design, you can probably find him out surfing or playing soccer with his kids.
