San Diego City College Graphic Design at the San Diego International Airport. Arrive. Depart. Get Inspired.

The award winning San Diego City College Graphic Design program currently has student work on exhibition at the San Diego International Airport in Terminal One. This work was created in conjunction with DesignAHEAD, the Arts program, Marketing, Design and Construction staff at SAN.The idea was to take part in a design charrette related to a specific project and target audience, surprise and delight travelers while showcasing the innovative, diverse thinking of San Diego City College design students.

Design challenges included concession advertising promoting the many ways to shop, dine and relax at SAN as well as the many non-stop destinations served.

Teams of students created clever vehicle graphics for airport shuttle buses taking visitors and residents to short and long term parking lots. Concepts ranged from promoting local destinations and neighborhoods to non-stop destinations served by SAN.

Design students also developed three dimensional environmental graphic design monument graphics to create a sense of place. These creative ideas showcase a wide range of conceptual and technical skills and will be on display for six months in Terminal one.
